Hello, PIDS friends! Here's our #PIDSFactFriday for the week on why young people not in employment, education, or training find it hard to access training opportunities.
A PIDS study found that financial constraints, particularly the lack of funds for allowance or tuition, are the main barriers of young people not in employment, education, or training (NEET) in pursuing further training. Other reported obstacles are the lack of information on technical and vocational education and training, housework, having to work or seek work, and school accessibility. While on training, their main problems are poor or no internet connection, insufficient allowance, and issues with their digital device.
