In response to the demand for systematic and comprehensive studies that can guide and support planning and policymaking, the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) regularly crafts a five-year research agenda to have an objective prioritization of prevailing domestic and global issues that affect the country. The new research agenda 2020-2025 covers emerging policy issues that need to be studied thoroughly not only by PIDS but by other research and academic institutions as well. Anchored on the AmBisyon Natin 2040 as a guiding vision, the report proposes topics revolving on the following major themes: Fourth Industrial Revolution (FIRe), climate change, trading arrangements, competition framework, and inequality.
