According to a PIDS study, the main barrier to entering technical and vocational education and training (TVET) was lack of money for tuition or allowance (47.5%).
The findings were derived from a rapid online survey answered by young trainees or training applicants who were, or had been, not in employment, education, or training (NEET) at the time of the survey.
It was part of a broader PIDS study highlighting the critical need for increased attention to youth NEET and the challenges they encounter - an important reminder for policymakers this #FilipinoYouthDay.
