As part of the series of press conferences for the 15th Development Policy Research Month, the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) and the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) will hold a press conference in Baguio City on September 29, 2017, from 10:30 am to 1:00 pm.
Among the resource speakers are PIDS President Gilberto Llanto and Senior Research Fellow Rosario Manasan. Key regional officials from the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Finance-Bureau of Local Government Finance, Department of Budget and Management, and National Economic and Development Authority were also invited to serve as panelists in the press conference.
The DPRM is celebrated across the country every September since 2002 in view of Malacañang Proclamation No. 247. This activity aims to promote and draw nationwide awareness on the importance of policy research in the formulation of sound development plans, programs, and policies. The proclamation designated state think tank PIDS as the lead government agency in the yearly observance of the DPRM.
