MORE investments in road and port infrastructure in Mindanao are needed to hasten the production of fruits and vegetables in the island, according to a recent study. Titled `Strengthening Markets of High-value Fruits and Vegetables: The Case of Transport and Shipping Service Improvement,` the study said better roll-on, roll-off shipping services should be provided for greater connectivity between markets and improved port operations. It added that accurate and timely market information should also be generated, especially for farmers.
