The government has firmly declared that it would not turn its back on free trade. This, amidst the rally staged by activists against the visit of the Director General of the World Trade Oganization, Pascal Lamy, last week. I say the statement is fair enough as long as we, together with other developing countries, push for rules that will allow us to continue to restrict access to our agricultural markets.
