#PIDSInfoBits: Did you know that majority of Filipino international and internal migrants come from rural areas?
According to the 2018 National Migration Survey, 54.7 percent of international migrants and 62 percent of internal migrants were born in the rural areas and barrios.
This is a strong indication of the lack of economic opportunities in the rural areas, pushing people to seek greener pastures elsewhere.
