Quezon City (14 November) -- Dr. Nanak Kakwani, Director and Chief Economist of the International Poverty Center of the United Nations Development Program based in Brazil will deliver a lecture during the CBMS Network Conference to be held on November 15-17, 2006 at the Heritage Hotel in Pasay City. Dr. Kakwani has done extensive research on inequality and poverty, public finance and development economics. He was elected fellow of the Academy of Social Science in Australia and awarded the prestigious Mahalanobis Memorial Gold Medal for outstanding research in quantitative economics.
