The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), in collaboration with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), will hold a public webinar titled “Resilient Legs for Economic Recovery in the Post-Pandemic Era” on October 27, 2021, 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM, via Zoom. 

While the rest of the world are gradually reopening their economies and beginning to transition to the new normal, developing countries like the Philippines have been looking for sources of growth that would support sustained and robust economic recovery. The event will highlight areas that could contribute to a more inclusive and resilient growth in the Philippines in the post-pandemic era.

Three papers will be presented in this webinar. The first study is “GVCs and Philippine ITBPOs: Impact on Real Wages and Labor Productivity in Services” by BSP Senior Researchers Laura Fermo and Hazel Parcon-Santos, and BSP Executive Assistant VI Jose Eduardo Sto. Domingo. The second one is a PIDS study titled “An Empirical Exploration of Financial Inclusion in the Philippines” by PIDS Senior Research Fellow Margarita Debuque-Gonzales and Supervising Research Specialist John Paul Corpuz. The third paper is “ASEAN-5 Countries: In Competition for FDI” by Senior Researcher Hazel Parco-Santos, Research Associate Marie Edelweiss Romarate, and Bank Officer V Ma. Rica Amador, all from BSP.
