Gross Domestic Product registered a growth of 4.4 percent in 2002 from its 3 percent growth in 2001. All regions exhibited growth for 2002 except CARAGA which slid by a minimal 0.4 percent. The top 5 regions which contributed to GDP growth are NCR, with a 30.6 percent share to GDP, Southern Tagalog 15.6 percent, Central Luzon 9 percent, Central Visayas 7.16 percent & Western Visyas 7.12 percent respectively.
Year-on-year inflation rate slightly decelerated to 3.3 percent in July from 3.4 percent in June.
Composite Index closes at 1,240.4 for the month of July. This is higher compared to June`s 1,222.8.
The 91-day Treasury bill rate for the month of July has averaged at 5.243, lower than June`s 5.582 but higher than that of July 2002 at 4.77.
