The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) welcomed Professor Toshiro Nishizawa, project professor at the Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Tokyo, on February 10, 2016. PIDS President Dr. Gilberto Llanto received him at the new PIDS headquarters in Quezon City.
Prof. Nishizawa, who has worked for banks and various development agencies across Japan and the Asia Pacific, explored ways on how PIDS and the University of Tokyo could strengthen their ties through their educational and research programs. Both institutions share common interests in creating sound public policy, promoting efficiency in public governance, and achieving inclusiveness and sustainability in the economy.
