UNESCAP and PIDS discuss policy details of the Philippines inclusive growth
State think-tank Philippine Institute for Development Studies welcomed United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific for a Policy Dialogue last May 18, 2014 .
UNESCAP Economics Affair Officer Mr. Steve Loris Gui-Diby explained the role of measuring growth inclusiveness to determine the best policies for achieving sustainable development. UNESCAP had recently developed a new Inclusiveness Index based on the rate of inclusiveness over long periods of time.
PIDS experts reflected, discussed and identified policies that could be shaped to optimize the components of inclusive growth, namely economic, social, and environmental. These policy areas include education, small and medium enterprise upscaling, infrastructure investment, investor protection, and enhanced competitiveness.
