Students of commerce and economics at the Incheon National University in Korea visited the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) at the Institute’s new office in Quezon City last January 28. PIDS Senior Fellows Dr. Roehlano Briones and Dr. Adoracion Navarro, and PIDS Supervising Research Specialist Adrian Boyett D. Agbon gave a briefing on the state of the Philippine economy.
Along with Dr. Navarro and Mr. Agbon, Dr. Briones discussed the factors that influenced the stagnation, decline, and recent uptick in the country’s economic history. The briefing was followed by an open forum between speakers and students, with both sides taking away new perspectives on the future role of the Philippines in the regional economy.
