Proclamation 247, issued by Malacañang in September 2002, declared the month of September of every year as Development Policy Research Month (DPRM). The proclamation highlights the critical role of policy research in the socioeconomic advancement of the Philippines and the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) as the lead coordinator and convenor of the yearly celebration.

The DPRM underscores the need to promote, enhance, instill, and draw awareness and appreciation of the importance and necessity of policy research in development planning and policymaking. It also aims to improve the public's awareness and understanding of significant socioeconomic issues.

This year's DPRM celebration carries the theme, "Going Green and Digital for a More Sustainable, Inclusive, and Prosperous Future for All", or in Filipino, "Maging Makakalikasan at Digital para sa Higit na Matatag, Ingklusibo, at Masaganang Kinabukasan para sa Lahat". Going green and digital is the way to build back better and stronger after COVID-19 and achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.

Join us as we explore how the Philippines can embark on this twin transition and what the government, academe, private sector, civil society, and us, citizens, can do to make it happen.
