The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) and the Griffith Asia Institute of Griffith University jointly organizied the "Australia-Philippines Policy Forum: Economic Diplomacy and the APEC Agenda" held on August 27, 2015, from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, at Diamond makati Residences in Makati City.
This inaugural partnership between PIDS and Griffith Asia Institute aimed to serve as a platform to discuss the current status of the Australia-Philippines bilateral relationship, with a particular focus on the broad economic partnership and their roles in multilateral cooperation such as the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). Through this policy forum, both institutions hoped to strengthen the collaboration between APEC study centers (ASCs) in the conduct of research and knowledge dissemination on APEC matters. PIDS has been leading the Philippine APEC Study Center Network (PASCN) since 1997 while Griffith Asia Institute is one of the ASCs in Australia.
