#PIDSInfoBits: Did you know that pre-COVID-19 pandemic, majority of the Philippines’ imports for medical-related products came from the ASEAN* region?
In 2019, imports from ASEAN to the Philippines were valued at USD 3.1 billion. Vehicles, such as wheelchairs, ambulances, mobile clinics, and radiologic vehicles were the highest imports.
In contrast, during the pandemic, imports came from the rest of the world. Most of them were disinfectants and sterilization products valued at USD 345 million.
