#PIDSInfoBits: Did you know that the proportion of Philippine schools with access to basic handwashing facilities has been increasing?
This is true for elementary schools, where an improvement from 61 percent in 2016 to 90.6 percent in 2020 was observed. Meanwhile, the proportion for junior high schools increased from 60.5 percent to 89.3 percent while that for senior high schools grew from 65.3 percent in 2018 to 83.2 percent in 2020. The Sustainable Development Goal target is 100-percent access to basic handwashing facilities for all school levels by 2030.
