For this week, our buzzword is "green jobs".
They refer to decent work that supports environmental preservation or restoration.
Green job workers allow various industries and sectors such as manufacturing, construction, and services to work toward sustainable growth by facilitating energy and raw materials efficiency; minimizing greenhouse gas emissions, waste, and pollution; protecting and restoring ecosystems; and supporting the adaptation to the effects of climate change.

A PIDS study projected the demand for green jobs workers if a national strategy supporting green jobs were implemented in the Philippines. It estimated an increase in the demand for workers in the greening sector by as much as 3.5 million in 2030. Two-thirds of this or 2.1 million workers will be in the services sector, followed by industry at 1.1 million workers, and agriculture at 0.3 million workers.
