As part of the 4th Mindanao Policy Research Forum held in Cagayan de Oro City, the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), along with Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) and University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) organized a press conference at the USTP on September 11, 2018.
The press conference panel was led by PIDS President Celia Reyes, MinDA Director Reyzaldy Tan, and USTP President Rosalito Quirino. They were joined by DOST- National Research Council of the Philippines President Ramon Razal and USTP Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation Dr. Ambrosio Cultura II.
The DPRM is celebrated across the country every September since 2002 in view of Malacañang Proclamation No. 247. This activity aims to promote and draw nationwide awareness on the importance of policy research in the formulation of sound development plans, programs, and policies. The proclamation designated state think tank PIDS as the lead government agency in the yearly observance of the DPRM.
