QUEZON CITY, October 1 (PIA) – The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) will be conducting an online forum on the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on poverty and income distribution in the country on October 8 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
The webinar will be available for viewing on their Facebook page through live video.
According to a press release published on the PIDS website, the study simulated the possible effects of contractions in per capita income on poverty and entire income distribution during the COVID-19 pandemic.
One finding is that the number of poor Filipinos can grow by 5.5 million due to a 10 percent decline in incomes across the country's entire income distribution.
