PIDS President Gilberto Llanto was among the speakers at the opening of the Aquaculture Philippines 2017 Expo and Forum held at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, last May 24.
With the theme Unity in Diversity: Developing Philippine Aquaculture Competitiveness, the 2nd National Aquaculture Summit, featured talks on the latest updates in aquaculture and development of critical political policy recommendations. It was organized by the Philippine Association of Fish Producers, Inc. (PAFPI).
In his presentation, Dr. Llanto discussed ways to improve governance in aquaculture value chains. He also talked about the status, challenges, and potential, as well as policy, regulatory, and institutional issues affecting the aquaculture sector.
