Representatives from Temasek Holdings Singapore met with PIDS officials on March 4, 2015 to discuss the economic and political developments in the Philippines.
Law Heng Dean and Elaine Tsai said the strong economic growth that the Philippines posted in recent years has been attracting the attention of international investors like Temasek.
Temasek is an investment company owned by the Government of Singapore. Supported by 11 offices globally, Temasek owns a USD 223 billion portfolio as of 31 March 2015, mainly in Singapore and Asia.
Temasek's investment themes center on transforming economies, growing middle-income populations, deepening comparative advantages, and emerging champions. Its portfolio covers a broad spectrum of industries encompassing financial services; telecommunications, media, and technology; transportation and industries; life sciences, consumer and real estate; and energy and resources.
Present during the briefing were PIDS President Gilberto Llanto, Acting Vice President Adora Navarro, and Research Information Director Sheila Siar.
