Representatives from the Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) of Vietnam visited the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) on December 7, 2015, to explore possible partnership in conducting research of mutual interest and in disseminating research results. The IWEP delegation was headed by its Deputy Director General, Dr. Nguyen Binh Giang. He was accompanied by Dr. Nguyen Duy Loi, deputy editor-in-chief of IWEP's publication "Review of World Economic and Political Issues" and director of the Center for Greater Mekong Sub-region Cooperation Studies, and Ma. Ngheim Tuan Hung, researcher at IWEP's Department for Political and Security Studies. The Vietnamese delegation also discussed issues on sustainable development as well as the impact of climate change from the Philippine perspective with representatives from PIDS composed of Ms. Renee Ajayi, director for project services, and Dr. Aniceto Orbeta and Dr. Sonny Domingo, research fellows.
The Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) is a government research institute within the National Center for Social Sciences and Humanities of Vietnam. It is one of Vietnam's leading research centers providing advice and recommendations for policymaking bodies of Communist Party and the government of Vietnam.
