The Network of East Asian Think Tanks (NEAT) was officially established in November 2003 with PIDS representing the Philippines. NEAT was one of the measures recommended in 2002 by the East Asian Studies Group convened by ASEAN+3 leaders for closer cooperation among East Asian countries.
