A study by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies on the impact of a trade agreement between the Philippines and the European Union has found that the export of certain agricultural products to Europe would increase under such an agreement, the Department of Trade and Industry said Thursday. The PIDS study “validate[s] the country’s strategy to increase our competitive advantage in select products such as cacao and abaca,” said Trade Undersecretary and Board of Investments managing head Adrian Cristobal.
