Studying ways to improve the Thai economy through trade and investment linkages with other countries in the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN), representatives from the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI) and the Trade Policy and Strategy Office met with fellow experts and researchers at the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS).
TDRI President Somkiat Tangkitvanich and TDRI researcher, Panis Suparat, were received by PIDS VicePresidentMarife Ballesteros, and PIDS Research Fellows Roehlano Briones, and Erlinda Medalla.
The PIDS research fellows provided an overview of the current Philippine economy and the country’s economic prospects under the incoming administration of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte. They also highlighted the main investor concerns in the Philippines, and the key opportunities and challenges for the Philippine economy in the next five to ten years.
