Dr. Gilberto Llanto, president of state think tank Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), received representatives of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on February 9, 2015.
Mr. Mike Woods, senior expert on Global Relations and Productivity, and his OECD colleague, Ms. Anders Jonsson, had been visiting various economic and development institutions in the country, to engage relevant industry authorities in the Philippines and prepare for the upcoming OECD-Southeast Asia Regional Forum and other multilateral development projects.
Aside from PIDS, Mr. Woods and Ms. Jonsson also visited the Department of Trade and Industry, the National Economic and Development Authority, and the Makati Business Club.
PIDS was visited by the OECD representatives given the Institute’s expertise and dedicated work in promoting evidence-based policy research on issues affecting small and medium enterprises, finance, and industry development policies.
