The global economic environment is experiencing a change in paradigm. Global uncertainties and new developments occur. The global economy has experienced a slowing pace in the past decade - the cost of moving goods has stopped falling, multinational firms are changing strategies, and activity is shifting towards services, according to The Economist. This slowing pace creates new difficulties for both developed and developing countries alike, and the Philippines is among them. In the region, ASEAN, China, and Taiwan play key roles and provide opportunities for the Philippines.
In this regard, state think tank Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) and the Chung Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER) will jointly hold a symposium titled, "The Global Economic Environment: A Symposium on the Global Economy and What it Means for the Philippines". The forum aims to discuss national and regional issues, and poses the questions as to where is this paradigm shift leading the Philippines and how can it find cooperation and collaboration with neighboring countries in the region?
This will be held on April 3, 2019, Wednesday, from 8:30AM to 1:40PM, at the PIDS Conference Hall, 18F Three Cyberpod Centris - North Tower, EDSA cor. Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.
