In line with the approval of the Senate of the Philippine Innovation Act, PIDS is organizing a seminar titled "Measuring and Examining Innovation in Philippine Business and Industry" on November 6, 2017 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. at the PIDS office located at 18F Three Cyberpod Centris - North Tower, EDSA corner Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.
To be presented by Dr. Jose Ramon Albert, Senior Research Fellow at PIDS, this study describes the results of the 2015 Survey of Innovation Activities (2015 SIA). Dr. Albert will tackle the types of innovations engaged by firms, provide information on the environments in which these innovative activities are conducted, and determine the factors of innovation performance, barriers to innovation, and effects of innovation of firms. Insights on possible actions of the government to stimulate innovation as a major driver of economic output, productivity, and competitiveness will also be discussed.
