PRESIDENT Aquino yesterday said his last three years in office would focus on addressing the plight not just of the poorest of the poor but also of the “vulnerable but emerging sectors of society.” The President, in opening the Global Development Networks` (GDN) Annual Global Development Conference held at the Asian Development Bank headquarters, said his administration would give more focus on mass housing and job creation in the tourism and agriculture sectors. Aquino said during the first half of his term of office, his government focused on improving the lives of the poorest of the poor through programs like the conditional cash transfer which ensures that students remain in school, and children and mothers get regular check-ups.
