The Philippine Institute for Development Studies, the National Economic and Development Authority, and the United Nations Development Programme, Philippines hosted the “2018 High-Level Policy Dialogue on Meeting the 2030 Global Agenda Pledge to Leave No One Behind in the Philippines” on April 10, 2018 at the PIDS office in Quezon City.
Drawing on material presented in chapter one of the Global Sustainable Development Report 2016, this high-level policy consultation was organized to explore the implications for the Philippines of meeting the 2030 Agenda Pledge “to leave no one behind and endeavour to reach the furthest behind first.”
A better understanding of the location, characteristics, economic and social circumstances of marginalized, vulnerable, and at risks groups is essential for developing better targeted policies, programs and projects and/or ensure their participation in the mainstream development process by promoting inclusion and empowerment of the poor. What evidence and data are currently available to inform this debate?
The policy consultation brought together a small group of researchers, government officials, development partners, civil society, the private sector, and other stakeholders to present and discuss challenges and opportunities in eradicating poverty and ensuring no one is left behind.
